MEET THE TEACHERS!

Welcome to fifth grade! I am so excited that our paths have crossed and I get to be your fifth grade teacher! You may not believe this, but a long time ago, I was a fifth grader at a Unit 5 school, too! I was a fifth grader at Northpoint Elementary, and even when I was in 5th grade I knew that I wanted to become a teacher. To be here today as your teacher, at a Unit 5 school, is a dream come true!

Since we will be spending a lot of time together, I think it's important for you to get to know a little about who I am, and during the school year I will be very interested in getting to know lots about you!! So, below are some facts about me! Do we have anything in common?

• I love animals! I have a yellow lab named Mack and a cat named Tilly (see pictures above)!

• I spend my time outside of school reading or listening to podcasts, going for walks, exercising, and relaxing with friends and family.

• I really enjoy playing games (Clue, Blokus, Sequence).

• I went to college at Eastern Illinois University and finished my Master's from Illinois State University in the Spring of 2020.

• I love to travel- near or far!

• I enjoy playing golf, and just recently began learning how to play pickleball, which is similar to tennis.

• Most of my family lives in Bloomington/Normal, and I feel lucky to live so close to them and enjoy seeing them frequently. Some of my family lives in Holland, Michigan- which is an awesome town to visit right on Lake Michigan.

• Blue is my favorite color!

• Summer and fall are my favorite seasons! The 4th of July and Halloween are my favorite holidays!
