Suggested Educator To-Do List

  • Consult the resources that are being published by your arts education organization, and other sources.

  • Meet with your administrator(s) and/or school board members and discuss the reopening plan.

  • Propose positive ideas for how you and your program can support students while working in accordance with policies that address health and safety concerns.

  • Volunteer to join teams or task forces that will guide your school’s plans.

  • In cooperation and collaboration with your administration, begin to develop flexible plans to be prepared for rapidly changing circumstances. You will likely want to include:

      1. a combination of online and in-person learning

      2. plans (and backup plans) for a variety of settings (indoor, outdoor, fixed classroom for students/traveling teachers)

      3. plans that demonstrate you are prepared to support social-emotional needs of students
