Welcome to Mrs. Rodriguez's First Grade Website

I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year. I will be getting to know lots about your child this year and can’t wait. I love getting to know all my students’ interests and build our classroom family.

Here is a little about me . . .

I grew up in Robinson, PA, which is about 20 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. I received my Bachelor’s degree from California University in Elementary and Special Education and my Master’s from Slippery Rock in Special Education. This is my 17th year of teaching. I taught Learning Support and 2nd grade for my first 4 years and have been in fabulous first grade ever since! For the last 10 years I have been lead teacher at Smedley as well. I am also one of the elementary technology integrators in the district. I am also the tech director for the Barrow Civic Theater’s Youth Program.

I love working with kids and helping them grow. I truly believe watching children have their “light bulb” moments is one of the best things in the world.

My husband Mike is also in education. He is the Director of Student Services at Lakeview High School in Sandy Lake. We have a 8 year old son named Michael. He is in third grade. He is all boy and loves all things sports. We also have a 5 year old daughter named Natalie. She is starting kindergarten and is so excited! She is our super smiley wild child!

I look forward to getting to know all of you this school year. Communication is very important to me, so please feel free to contact me if there is anything you ever need. I am anticipating another wonderful school year!
