Dr. Shaun Rowley

Welcome to

LERN 50: College Success!

Welcome to LERN 50: College Success!  This course will focus on personal growth and development, academic study strategies, and critical and creative thinking.

I know for some of you this will be your first online class and you may have some anxiety about it. In addition to the class orientation, I am available on campus to work with students face to face over the course of the semester if needed.  I hope this will ease your anxiety about taking an online class.

A little about me:

University of Texas, Austin: BA in Psychology

Sonoma State University: MA in Counseling

University of San Francisco: Doctorate in Multicultural Education

I  have been a  faculty member since 1999. Currently, I am a College Success professor.

I believe it is my responsibility as a community college professor to continually work towards providing students with the experiences and tools needed to pursue, realize and achieve their goals - both educationally and personally.

I completed a dissertation entitled, "The Internal Worlds of First Generation Community College Students: Students' Critical Reflections on the Role of Resilience in their Academic Success."
