I am a civil and environmental engineering professor and academic leader known for my work in structural engineering, smart infrastructure, and structural health monitoring. My research centers on sensor networks and mobile sending for monitoring bridges and buildings, digital twins and real time models, data-driven methods for infrastructure resilience, earthquake and hazard engineering, and smart systems for aging civil infrastructure. I am particularly interested in integrating advanced sensing, machine learning, and engineering mechanics to improve safety and performance of large structural systems. I serve as an Associate Editor and member of the Editorial Boards of of Structure and Infrastructure Engineering - Maintenance, Management, Life-Cycle Design and Performance (SIE); Structural Monitoring and Maintenance (SMM), An International Journal; and Frontiers in Built Environment: "Structural Sensing”; and have previously served as an Associate Editor for the (ASCE) Journal of Structural Engineering.
