7th Grade english and GATE
With a master's degree in Education and certification in English and journalism, I have been teaching for 28 years. I started at Lawson High School in 2002, and secured the position of 7th grade English teacher three years later. I love teaching middle school students in this district due to their excitement, honest and unfiltered answers, and genuine respect that has been instilled in them in this community.
At LMS, I sponsor Literary Society, a small group that is passionate about reading, writing, and discussing books in a social setting. I also offer tutoring after school by appointment until 4 p.m.
I grew up in Gallatin, MO; attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville for my undergraduate degree; married in 1995 and have seven children of my own; and earned my master's degree from Baker University. I love to read and write and am passionate about animal welfare and rescue.
