Year 9 Curriculum Choices

Learn Joyfully. Live Fully.

Welcome To the Year 9 Curriculum Choices

Information Site

Normally at this time of year we would look forward to welcoming you into our classrooms to learn more about the options on offer for our Key Stage 4 curriculum.  This year we hope you will enjoy this information site which will guide you through the decision making process providing an overview explanation, individual subject presentations and key dates.

The Holy Cross School is proud to offer a wide variety of subjects which allows students the opportunity to personalise their curriculum through Key Stage 4. We offer a range of both GCSE and Technical Levels to suit a variety of abilities and pathways, with excellent track results.

When considering which subjects to opt for we advise that your daughter chooses subjects that will motivate and interest her while at the same time keeping her options open for post-Key Stage 4 studies or career paths.  Our pastoral and academic staff are happy to advise and support you through this process - via the video workshops, the Curriculum Choices booklet, the Curriculum Choices Fair for students, the virtual Parents Evening and student appointments with the Careers Adviser.

On this website you will find a variety of resources to help guide you and your daughter. Firstly we advise that you watch the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher overview presentation. Then you should navigate to the individual subject presentations (you will be able to watch these as many times as you wish).  You will also find the Year 9 Curriculum Options Booklet link which offers additional information.
