Cosmetology Year 1

Program Overview

Calling all future Cosmetologists!! The Cosmetology program is designed to prepare students to qualify for the South Carolina State licensing examination. Over the course of two years, the student receives training in the arts and science of the care and beautification of the hair, skin, and nails. The course of study includes scalp treatments, hair shaping, hair styling, setting, waving, hair coloring, and shampoos and rinses. Care of skin and nails includes manicuring and pedicures, massage, facials, make-up application and hair removal. Instruction in chemistry, bacteriology, anatomy, physiology of the face, head, arms and hands is incorporated by means of theory and of practical application on both mannequins and live models. Also included in the course of study is salon planning and time management. The students will learn professional skills as well as practical to acheive success in their future.
