Your student will learn how to sing and sight reading at Greer. Being in choir offers students a rich outlet for expressing themselves. If your student loves to sing, then sign them up for choir!

*If your student wants to take choir all year, they must sign up for TWO sections of choir. Ask your guidance counselor about it during their IGP meeting.

Teacher Details: National Board Certified 2013. IB Music Certified 2021.

Course Description: A brief overview of what the course will cover (GCS High School Curriculum Guide) Chorus will cover a sequential sight reading curriculum. Students will also learn correct, age appropriate singing technique.

Objectives/Dos: Students should be able to sing, perform, and present themselves in a professional manner. The longer a student maintains choir in their schedule, the further their comfort level, performance, and skills will progress.

Assessments: Assignments posted on Google Classroom must be completed by 10 AM the next day. E-Learning and Virtual class assignments will align with one another.

Grading policy: 60% major assignments, 40% minor assignments

Communication Protocols: All online assignments will be given through Google Classroom. All student communication will occur through their school gmail account. Google classroom information will be given out as soon as all chromebooks have been assigned.

Academic Policies and Procedures: Student work should be submitted on the specified due date. NO LATE assignments will be accepted.

Classroom Policies and procedures: Each class has completed a cooperative learning activity in which students assigned expectations to themselves and the teacher. Students will abide by these expectations because they had ownership in their formation process. All students are expected to fully participate in all choir activities at all times.
