Mrs. Kinney's

School Counseling Website

Welcome to Mrs. Kinney's website!

Welcome to my webpage! We have two full time counselors at Bethel Elementary. Please let either of us know how we can help you or your child.

Some school counseling services include:

  • Classroom guidance lessons that teach children how to be a leader and develop good character using the 7 Habits of Happy Kids
  • Individual sessions to help students deal with issues of conflict or changes at school/home

**Please note that school counselors do not provide therapy. Please contact one of us or visit the community resources page for mental health referrals.

  • Small groups for students facing difficult situations that impact school success
  • Parent workshops that provide information on a variety of topics
  • Consultations for parents to learn about assistance and community resources
  • For more information about the ASCA National Model, please see the Executive Summary.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is carefully respected and maintained. The school counselor explains to children that there are certain times when confidentiality must be breached:

  • Someone is hurting you
  • You want to hurt someone else
  • You want to hurt yourself

School Counseling Program Mission

The mission of the Bethel Elementary School counseling program is to collaborate with school and community to promote a nurturing learning environment for all students so that they develop academic, career, and social emotional skills in order to become productive leaders.
