Vision:

The vision of Sterling School’s Comprehensive School Counseling Program (CSCP) is that every student will acquire the academic, career and personal/social skills needed to develop and reach their greatest educational potential in the workplace. Each student will grow into responsible, competent and contributing citizens to their community.

Mission:

The mission of the Sterling School Counseling program is to help all students establish their unique academic, career and personal goals to be able to reach their full potential. The School Counselor meets the needs of the students through helping students overcome challenges which can affect their learning and development. The School Counselor fosters a safe and all inclusive school through advocacy and ensuring that all students have equal opportunity and access to curriculum, resources and support. The school counselor collaborates with staff and families to meet the needs of students individually. She also collaborates with community members through the school and counseling program planning processes. The school counseling program prepares all students to be successful career driven individuals whom are responsible global citizens in an ever changing society.

The Sterling School Counseling program maintains confidentiality of their students through having a good working relationship with students, parents and members of the school. Every effort is made to protect parent and student privacy rights except in situations regarding safety (a harm to self or others), legal issues and professional responsibilities as stated by the American School Counseling Association’s Ethical Standards for School Counselors.
