Washington Center

Welcome to the 17-18 school year at Washington Center! We here at school are excited about the new year and we have been working hard to get all the personnel and schedules in place. We have no new teachers this year but do have several staff members who will either be with us for the first time or who have been officially hired during the summer.

We are still working on plans for the nature trail, though it appears that we will have to work on raising more funds this year for that endeavor. Our classroom technology, however, has been completely refreshed, and Jennifer Tillman has gotten it up and ready to go.

This year we will continue to be focused on student safety, on alignment of instruction with standards; on technology integration; and, on community based training. We continue to appreciate the support we receive from community members and from our own SIC and PTA, and we invite parents to volunteer for one, or both, of these groups.

Please accept our invitation to visit the school often and to share your thoughts on how we might make the program here the best it can be. Best wishes for a successful school year.
