Mr. Lowery is in his seventh year as music specialist at Woodland Elementary. Originally from Savannah, Ga., he graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Music Education. After graduation, he was awarded an assistantship at the University of Tennessee where he earned a Masters of Music Performance. During post graduate study at the University of Georgia, Patrick was offered and accepted the Percussion Director position at Spartanburg District Five Schools. During this time, he also worked as an instructor of percussion at Converse College and as an assistant percussion director for Furman University. He later earned a Masters in Educational Leadership from Converse College. Prior to moving to Greenville County Schools, Mr. Lowery was the Director of Chorus and Music at Florence Chapel Middle School in Spartanburg District Five where he achieved his National Board Certification in Music Education. He also has served as the principal timpanist of the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra for the past fourteen years. Patrick lives in Greer, SC with his wife Heather and three daughters, Elena, Kate, and Wren.
