Mrs. Schoettelkotte's Lighthouse Leaders

Come walk the wild shores of reading and writing as we dive into the written word and the adventures they contain!

HOMEROOM PARENTS:

Welcome to Schoettelkotte's Wild Shores! Please take a minute to complete the google document in order to help us get some basic information about your child. Thank you!

REMIND

In an effort to keep you updated about our classes, Ms. Cloer and I have created several Remind pages. We each have one for our homerooms and one for our subject area. You will want to join my homeroom if your child is in my homeroom class as well as SchoettelCloerS/M/SS and SchoettelCloerELA. This way we can keep you updated with all the information heading your way this year.

ASSIGNMENT

Please take a minute to respond to our "Dream Team" FLIPGRID by clicking the link to the right. We will be using flipgrid as a teaching tool in class using our chromebooks. Our videos are linked as well for you to watch. Have fun with it! You will be answering the following "getting to know you" questions:

  • your name
  • whose homeroom are you in (Schoettelkotte or Cloer)
  • If you could go anywhere and do anything anywhere in the whole world, what adventure would you have?

You will need to login in using your school email to complete this activity.

DONORS CHOOSE

Please visit my Donors Choose site to see the newest project to impact our fifth graders! I'm hoping to get Scholastic News Magazines funded for both of my ELA classes.

I'm very excited to share with everyone the link to my DonorsChoose site. Any donation would be helpful and please feel free to share the links on social media to get this funded quickly. Thank you in advance for your support!

SUPPLIES

Please follow the supply list for fifth grade as a guide for purchasing items. As a class, we share pencils, loose leaf paper, tissues, wipes, and bags. The rest of the items belong to your child and extras will be stored in a supply bag for them to get items from as needed. I have no problem with cute pictures on notebooks, compositions book, or folders. I know that Ticonderoga pencils and Expo markers are more expensive brands, however, there is a method to our madness. The Ticonderoga pencils last MUCH longer than others and the Expo markers do not leave a residue when used. I understand if they are not in your budget but they will make life easier for your child in the long run. Your child will also need two plastic 3 prong folders not listed on the supply list. Thank you in advance for getting these items. I do not allow pencil cap erasers, mechanical pencils, or personal pencil sharpeners in class because they make a mess and/or they cause an unneccessary distraction.

AMAZON WISH LIST

Please consider a donation to our classroom. I have amassed a list of books and items that would be an amazing addition to our class this year. I'm excited to be able to offer many high interest novels to the kids in my classes. Thank you in advance for your generous donation. Items will be shipped directly to our school.
