Creative Writing eLearning 4.0 for May 11th-May 29th

Day 1: If you could open a restaurant what type of restaurant would it be? For instance, Mexican, Italian, etc… What would the name of your restaurant be? What would be your “signature” dish? That means what dish would be you specialty?

Day 2: If you could visit any city/place in the United States what city/place would it be? Give a reason WHY you selected this place, and tell me TWO things you would do there!

Day 3: If you could visit any city/place OUTSIDE of the United States what city/place would it be? Give a reason WHY you selected this place, and tell me TWO things you would do there!

Day 4: I once knew someone who ate Chicken Chow Mein every night! (REALLY) If you had to eat the same meal every night what would it be? Give specific details! Who would cook it? Would you put any kind of sauce on it? Would it be delivered? If so, from where?

Day 5: If you had to wear the same t-shirt with the same slogan on it every day this summer WHAT color(s) would the shirt be? WHAT design? What would the SLOGAN OR WORDS on the shirt say? WHY did you pick these particular words?

Day 7: If you had to be either blind or deaf which one would you select? Please EXPLAIN your answer!

Day 8: Would you rather live somewhere where it was zero degrees every day with lots of snow or somewhere where it was one hundred degrees every day? In both places you would have some where to live where you would have heat or air conditioning, but the outside temperature would never change! EXPLAIN your answer!

Day 9: Would you rather be the oldest of 12 children or the youngest of 12 children? EXPLAIN your answer! Also, would your older or younger siblings, depending on your answer, be boys or girls or both? EXPLAIN!

Day 10: Now that you have experienced eLearning would you rather be home schooled from first grade until you graduate from high school or go to school from first grade through high school? Give TWO reasons for your choice!

Day 11 and Day 12: You are going to be on an advertisement on TV as a spokesperson for a product? What product would this be? This is a product that already exists and one that you use! Write a short slogan for the product you are advertising. A slogan is a short phrase or a sentence to help sell the product. For instance, Nike’s slogan is, “Just do it!” You have to come up with an original slogan. You cannot use a slogan that your product or some other product is already using.

Day 13-14:

What would you like people to know about your experience with eLearning from March 18th-May 29th. This is a two day assignment so I want you to think really hard about this and write about the things that mattered and are important to you! What you liked and things you would change. How was it having your parent(s) as teacher(s)? How have you changed since March 18th?

ELearning Lesson Plans

These materials are for all students who have access to WiFi and internet access. If your child cannot complete these lesson plans, please refer to the resources below for the printable materials.

Note: The first set of ELearning lesson plans begin on March 18th and go through April 2nd.

The second set of ELearning lesson plans will start on April 3rd and extend through April 24th. (We will be out for Spring Break beginning April 10th-April 19th)

There will be no printed packets to hand out to students for these lesson plans unless you have permission from Principal Bullard. This is because the building will not be occupied. A parent/family member/friend will need to print these off of the web site!

NEWEST Plans for Creative Writing- All Grades!

eLearning Plans 3.0 Creative Writing

Please do these Journal Entries in order. RESTATE the questions, use PROPER CAPITALIZATION (no little pronoun “I”), TIME and EFFORT, and CORRECT SPELLING use the spell check on the tool bar or Google the correct spelling). ANWSER ALL parts of the questions. Write AT LEAST 5 to 10 sentences. You must do this to get a 100!

April 28th: Soundtrack of Your Life If you could create a soundtrack for your life, what songs would you include and why? Discuss at least two songs and explain why you picked them.

April 29th: Flight or Invisibility? Would you rather be able to fly or turn invisible? Why? What would you do with your power? What problems would having this power cause?

April 30th: Diary of a Shoe Write a diary entry from the perspective of a well-worn shoe. Imagine it’s been the most exciting day of your life. Describe what happened, what you noticed, and how you are feeling.

May 1st: Nine Lines Write a nine-line poem with nine words in the first line, eight words in the second line, and so forth, until the last line has only one word. If you’re not sure where to start, try thinking of that last word first. You are free to write about anything you’d like, but challenge yourself to stick to the structure! It does NOT have to rhyme!

May 4th: Cartoon characters often wear the same outfit at all times (think SpongeBob SquarePants or Scrooge McDuck!), and their clothes give the audience clues about their personalities. If you were a cartoon character, what would you wear? Describe your outfit and explain what it would say about you.

May 5th: Would you rather receive an object (like an item of clothing or an electronic device) or an experience (like tickets to a concert or sports game) as a gift? Why? Give 2 reasons!

May 6th: Imagine you could create two new rules that everyone in your home has to follow. These rules can be as serious or silly as you want. What changes would you make, and why?

May 7th: Would you rather have to listen to music all the time, or never be able to listen to music at all? Why?

May 8th: You have been through many days of eLearning. What three pieces ofadvice would you give to

other students who have never done eLearning to make them successful and less stressed!

Day 10: Surprise! If you have turned in ALL the above entries for eLearning 3.0 so far.....you have...wait for it....a free day today. If you need to cartch up on some work in Creative Writing use this time to do so !

Creative Writing eLearning Lesson Plans (6th, 7th, and 8th)

April 3-April 24

DIRECTIONS: Select one prompt a day and type a well thought out response to it on a Google Doc. Be sure to include the number of the prompt and be sure to restate the question in the prompt. Remember, you may type these on Google Docs and then turn them into Google Classroom when you return to school if you are not able to access the internet! If you do have internet access please turn in one entry of your choice each day!

Please put the prompt number you have selected, restate the prompt, use proper capitalization, spelling (Google the word if you are not sure how it is spelled), and commas and periods!

1. If you had to create a resume about your qualities as a friend, what would it include? Would you deserve to get the job?

2. How frequently do you take photos? What do you like to take photos of? Do you share them with other people?

3. Are you looking forward to advancements in artificial intelligence? Or has technology already advanced too far?

4. Is it better to be a fast learner or to be naturally gifted at something? Why?

5. If you could cure any single disease, which one would you cure—and why?

6. Is the glass half-empty or half-full? Why?

7. Who is your favorite actor or actress? What do you like about him or her?

8. What does it mean to be emotionally intelligent?

9. What is the best way for schools to prevent bullying?

10. Do your parents allow you to have or use a cell phone? Why or why not?

11. What is the best thing about getting older? Why?

12. What is the hardest thing about getting older? Why?

13. Write a short story about what life would be like if you lived in a different country.

14. Do you consider yourself to be a good test-taker? Why or why not?

15. Do CEOs of big corporations deserve to make as much money as they do? Why or why not?
