Graphic Communications is the study of how to convey meaning through visual design elements.Â
The Graphic Communications program at Bonds Career Center is designed to introduce students to an overview of the different fields, professions, and industries that utilize graphic communications.
Using Adobe Suite software, students will gain advanced understanding of layout design, typography, desktop publishing, digital illustration and image editing knowledge for use in print production.
Students will also have hands-on opportunities to integrate their learned technology skills in industry practices including sublimation printing, large format printing, screen printing, direct to garment printing, embroidery, various vinyl cutting techniques and miscellaneous photography skills. Students will have assignments of increasing difficulty until they are proficient in producing documents, designs, photographs and products.
A balance of classroom study and practical application assures the development of a solid knowledge background, good production skills and appropriate work attitudes for future success in the graphic communications industry.
