About Me

Hello! I have great passion for the Earth's human and natural systems so I am thrilled to share this passion with my students. While I plan to expose students to a rigorous and engaging classroom environment, the well-being of students, both in and out of the classroom, is my number one priority.

I grew up in Charlotte, NC and loved the big city atmosphere. I went to school at Furman University which is when I fell in love with Greenville and began calling it my home. When I am not in Greenville or in Charlotte visiting family, you can likely find me at the lake, in the mountains, on a pickleball court, or literally ANYWHERE playing the trumpet. I am very interested in sustainability and had a focus on urban planning/urban agriculture during my time at Furman. I have many plants of my own and love getting my hands dirty.

In addition to my passion for science and environmental action, I have a lifetime passion for music. I began playing the trumpet in the third grade and haven't stopped since. I listen to a lot of classical and jazz music, so the students can expect some exposure to these genres in the classroom! I was a member of every ensemble that allowed trumpets during my time at Furman and was the principal player in the orchestra/concert band for the last five semester as well as being the lead trumpet and president of the jazz ensemble. I was also a member of the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps in the summers of 2017, 2018, and 2019.

I look forward to being the head coach of both the LA Girls Basketball and LA Baseball teams this year!
