Hello There!
My name is Megan Wright, and I'm incredibly excited for my sixth year as a Southside Tiger! This year I am teaching Senior IB English, English 2 Honors, and AVID 3 along with serving as the National Honor Society Sponsor. I am also thrilled to be Southside's 2023 - 2024 Teacher of the Year!
A little about me; I'm originally from a small town in Western North Carolina. I moved to Greenville, SC, in August 2012 and never left. I currently live in Greer and on the weekends, I am a wedding DJ here in the upstate!
I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a B.A. in English Language and Literature. I'm working on a Master's Degree in English with a specialization in Gothic Literature. My all-time favorite book is Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.
Most days, you can find me at home enjoying a restful evening. If I'm not at home, I may be out at my friend's house enjoying a good game or movie night, going for a long drive through the mountains, or wandering around a local bookstore. However, if I'm not in Greenville, then I'm probably at Disney World! One of my favorite things to do is "eat around the world" at the World Showcase in EPCOT. There are many Mickey Mouse shaped items in my classroom!
This school year will be fantastic, and I am excited to meet you all. We will be reading a wide variety of literature this year and having plenty of meaningful discussions. Discussion is the backbone of my teaching philosophy because I want to know what you think!
