Math Intervention

What is Math Intervention?

Math intervention is a time and space outside of the general classroom where students receive extra support and practice on math skills. Students are selected based on classroom performance, test scores, and/or teacher recommendation.

The Goals for Math Intervention:

  • to teach and/or re-teach important math skills

  • to fill gaps from previous grade levels in order to build a foundation for new math skills

  • to increase student self-efficacy in mathematics

  • to support student's understanding of math concepts as they work towards mastering grade level skills and standards
