Literacy at the Fork

My name is Denise Alexander. This is my 27th year at Fork Shoals. I have taught Kindergarten , third grade and first grade. My Masters degree is from Winthrop and I have been Nationally Board Certified since 2002. My husband, Andy, and I have two grown children and two fur babies.

I feel very lucky to have a job that combines both my passion for working with children and adults.

As a Literacy Specialist I will :

• provide specialized instruction directly to students to support core classroom instruction, and works collaboratively to implement a quality reading program.

• assist with the evaluation of the literacy program and communicate the results to classroom teachers, parents, and specialized personnel.

• act as a resource to other educators, parents, and the community.
