AP World Syllabus:
Hello everyone! I am Coach Wilson and I am beginning my 15th year as a teacher and coach. I have an 18 year old daughter, Ashley Rose, (who is attending Clemson University) and a 15 year old son Tom; who attends TRHS. I also have a newborn baby boy (Jackson Hayes) and I am married to my lovely wife Kaitlyn Wilson, who is also a teacher. My hobbies are mixed martial arts, all sports, and hunting. I graduated from Chapin High School, my undergraduate degree is from The University of South Carolina; I have masters degrees from both Converse College and USC and my doctorate is from USC. I serve as a football coach on both the Varsity and JV teams here at TRHS. I look forward to teaching your children and meeting all of you! Students are expected to log into Google Classroom each day and complete all assignments.
We exist to educate students both academically and socially so that they become responsible citizens of our local and global community.
All grades for your student will be posted within seven (7) calendar days from the date the assignment/assessment is collected. Major projects and lengthy term papers will have grades posted within fourteen (14) calendar days of collecting the assignment.
***VERY IMPORTANT*** If you want to turn in a late assignment, you must bring in a hard copy and turn into the box for the class that you are in. DO NOT go back into google classroom and submit it, bring a hard copy and let me know that you are turning in a late assignment. It is up to the student to go on google classroom or ask me about assignments missed while absent. Late work is penalized 10 points per day, once it is three days late; you may turn it in for a maximum grade of 70. After it is >3 days late, it is a zero. AP late work is penalized 20 points per day and after three days you may turn it in for a 50.
Major Assessment Retake Policy:
You may retake any major assessment, but, you must first come to me and attend remediation. Once I feel that you are ready, you may retake the assessment. You may only retake the assessment one time and it must be done before the next unit is completed. Also, all zeroes for the unit (minor grades) must be turned in before you may re-take the major assessment. This policy does not apply to AP classes.
