Course Description

The goal of Physical Education is to develop physically literate individuals who have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of physical activity. The purpose of Physical Education is to promote wellness; to provide a release for stress, anxiety, and mental fatigue; and to encourage recreational sports.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of individual and team sports.  We will also focus on personal fitness and the health related fitness components by assessing the students using FitnessGram. The students will also participate in a Sexual Education Curriculum implemented by GCSD county wide during each semester as well as implementation of health related concepts at least once a week; required by the state of South Carolina (Comprehensive Health Act).  This course will fully prepare students to build healthy bodies, healthy minds, and healthy futures.
