Grades: Each quarter students will complete 8+ minor assessments (activities, classwork, quizzes) and 3+ major assessments (projects, tests).

Overview: This course is aligned with the 2020 South Carolina Social Studies College and Career Ready Standards for World Civilizations. Students will study world civilizations to uncover trends from prehistory to present day. Instruction will utilize the historical thinking skills and themes developed for grade six that are aligned with the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Through inquiry, students will be given many opportunities to analyze primary and secondary sources and then design and communicate their findings. Unit assessments will vary to include project-based learning.
