Welcome my amazing artist!
My name is Emily Swafford! Here is a little about me:
This will be my seventh year teaching at GCMS!
I graduated from Campbellsville University in 2019 and completed my Bachelors degree in Art Education for grades Preschool-12th grade.
I have shown my own artwork in competitions across Kentucky, as well as curated many art exhibits.
I completed my Master in Art Education at the University of Florida Art Education Program in 2023.
In November 2023 I published my first picture book.
Currently (2025) I am working on my teaching certificate in Spanish.
I'm looking forward to expressing my passion for art with everyone through the positive environment we create. My goal is for all of the students to be able to grow in their own unique creativity and innovations.
