Welcome to the CVUSD Elementary Track & Field website. Our program is open to all CVUSD elementary students in 4^th and 5^th grade and 3rd grade @ Palomares only. The goal of this program is to promote physical fitness, improve skills, school spirit and positive sportsmanship in a fun learning environment. With a variety of field events such as jumping and throwing, students do not need to be the fastest or strongest runner to feel like a winner. Each school will run their own weekly site practices starting in late March/early April. During the months of May and June, each school will participate in one practice meet, one qualifying meet and the final district meet.

Title IX/Educational Equity

Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 is the landmark legislation that bans sex discrimination in schools, whether it be in academics or athletics. Title IX states:

"No person in the U.S. shall, on the basis of sex be excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving federal aid."

In accordance with Title IX, the CVUSD Elementary Track and Field program is committed to ensuring all students are treated with equity and fairness. Every effort will be made to ensure parity in participation between girls and boys teams.
