Careers in Geography Assignment

A2. Developing Transferable Skills: identify some careers in which a background in geography might be an asset 

Students will choose a career in geography which they find interesting.  Students will then create a job posting for the career they chose.  The job posting must include the following information.

• A description of the job, including responsibilities.

• What kind of education / training is required?

• Skills that are required.

• Technology that is used.

• Average salary.

• Sources

Class can choose from the following list or any of the jobs referenced on the video.

Urban planner, wetlands conservationist, seismologist, climatologist, hazardous waste planner, hydrologist, agricultural engineer, outdoor guide, cartographer, landscaper, forestry technician, demographer.

** If students want to learn about another career, please discuss with the teacher.

In your research, you must use at least 3 sources and you must cite your work using MLA.
