Waddle Like a Penguin

Grades K-2: Individualized one-time virtual program

This program option is prioritized for SPED/inclusion classes, newcomer classes, and/or for classes taught primarily in languages other than English or Spanish. If your class does not have one of these classifications, but you think it would be best for your students, you are still encouraged to apply and we will do our best to fit you in.

Overview

Discover how the unique adaptations of African Penguins help them to survive in their ocean habitat. Students will waddle and swim like a penguin while observing our live penguin colony.

What is a interactive one-time virtual program?

Each program is 30-minutes long and taught by a professional educator who converses directly with your students via webcam and microphone. Students will also interact with educators through polls, chat box, and hands-on activities, as age appropriate. Teachers receive a private link ahead of time to share with their students. Generally we use Zoom with classes, but we may be open to other videoconferencing platforms.

Extension activities for students

Teachers can find optional extension activities that are designed to be self-directed by the students or class group work, and may be built upon by the teacher if they desire. Activities range from 5-30 minutes long. Students | Estudiantes
