The Superintendent search is on!

The School Board and the search firm are working diligently to bring the best possible candidates to Byron. Community input is key and WELCOME! You will have the opportunity to sit in when the Board interviews candidates, as well as participate in the interview process during the final round of interviews.

The first round of interviews is scheduled for Saturday, March 18, 8:30 am-4:00 pm, in the Conference Room at the DACS building. During this first round, the Board will be interviewing approximately 6 candidates and community members are welcome to observe. At the end of this first round, the Board will narrow the field to two or three finalists.

The final candidates will return, each for one full day, on Monday, March 20, Tuesday, March 21, and Wednesday, March 22. The candidates will be interviewed by various groups during the day, including staff, students and community. An open community interview will be held each day from 5:00-6:00 pm in the DACS Board Room. All school district residents are welcome to attend. You will hear from the candidate and have the opportunity to ask questions. At the end of the interview, you will be invited to complete a feedback form on the candidate that will be copied and given to each Board member.

On each of the final round interview days, the Board will conduct their final interview with each candidate at 7:30 pm, also in the DACS Board Room. You are welcome to observe each of the interviews. After the last final round Board interview (on March 23), the Board will determine which of the candidates to enter into negotiations with to become our next Superintendent of Schools.

The Board invites everyone to take the opportunity to participate in this very important process.
