English Language Arts

Welcome!

Welcome to Advanced English Language Arts and Gifted and Talented!  This is my 26th year teaching ELAR! I have been teaching at BISD since 2005, and am a Burkburnett Bulldog graduate, as well! I knew from a very early age that teaching was my calling. I come from a long family history of educators. Communication and collaboration  is extremely important to me, so please do not hesitate to email or contact me at any time. By working together, we can help your child be successful. One of my greatest strengths is building positive and appropriate relationships with my students. I will do all that I can to motivate and build your child's self confidence this year, so that they can reach their highest potential of success! I can also assure you that I will do my best to see that your child has a positive learning experience this school year. I cannot wait to share my passion of reading through engaging and exciting literature! Sharing and introducing amazing  books with my students is my "MOST FAVORITE" thing about teaching ELAR! It is so much fun to watch my students engage with literature and anticipate reading that next chapter in a book.

As an educator, I try to act and live upon the very same words as my Grandmother, who earned her teaching degree from Texas A&M in 1945: "I try to teach and treat ALL of my students in a way that I would want my own children to be taught and treated!" Your support is appreciated, and I want to thank you for entrusting me with your child's educational experience. Again, I look forward to an exceptional school year! I am proud to be a Bulldog. Go, Dogs!
