A summer math camp for high schoolers

At Boston University 

The 2024 GeMsGetMath@BU program will run during August 12-16, 2024

GeMsGetMath@BU is a five-day non-residential mathematics program at Boston University that is open to high schoolers of any gender who live in the greater Boston area and who will be entering the 10th or 11th grade in the fall of 2024. 

The program is modeled after the GirlsGetMath program at the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics (ICERM):

GeMsGetMath@BU encourages 20-25 high schoolers to explore topics such as cryptography, the mathematics of voting, image processing, prime numbers and factoring, and fractals.

The faculty organizers will be joined by graduate students who will serve as teaching fellows in the program.

The program will take place at Boston University.

Participant Requirements

Tuition

Full tuition is covered for all admitted students.  Daily lunch is included.

To Apply as a Participant

Applicants will need to include their letter-writer's name and email with their application.  Applicants must also upload a one-page personal statement about why they want to attend the GGM@BU program and ask their reference to submit a letter of recommendation by the deadline.

All applications and reference letters must be submitted by June 15, 2024.
