Welcome to the volcano vista drama department!
Drama encompasses many different facets; from dramatic acting to comedic improv, costume design to scenic painting, playwriting to directing, among many, many others. We will explore all aspects of this complex art form in the drama courses.
As a performance art, theatre requires students to get involved in a multitude of ways. During the course of the year, Drama students will have opportunities to participate in all of the department's many productions as performers, technical assistants, and/or audience members.
Volcano Vista High School Drama Department proudly sponsors International Thespian Troupe 7282. This is an honor society for students who have displayed exemplary achievement in theatre arts. All incoming Drama students are eligible to seek membership and are encouraged to participate in department activities to qualify. Parents and students are encouraged to keep up with grades through ParentVue and StudentVue. Please note that it is your responsibility to check grades and progress throughout each 6 weeks grading period. DO NOT wait until a grading period is almost over to ask how to make up an assignment from weeks past. Extra credit is rarely offered, but when it is announced in class it is your only opportunity. DO NOT ask for extra credit opportunities if you are not doing the regular credit.
