And, if you don't know me yet....Hello! I'm Ms. Simmering and I teach reading, writing, and organization for students in special education in 7th and 8th grades. I attended Winona State University to obtain my Elementary and Special Education Teaching Licence with an emphasis in Reading. Then, after I began teaching at FHS, I earned my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Southwest State University. I continue to take courses online to further my education. Even though this is my 22nd year at FHS, I am still finding new things to learn about education and our students. Fairmont is my hometown. I even attended and graduated from FHS (a few) years ago! I live here with my twin sons, Grant and Carter who are both in 2nd grade this year!

Outside of school, I enjoy playing outdoors with my kids on the trampoline, at the pool, or at the parks. We also go fishing and camping often too. I enjoy music, play piano, and sing. Watching movies and reading are my favorite personal quite time activities.

While I've been so excited to spend my year in my classroom with my students, things have changed with our Distance Learning plan. My "Beach" classroom is now closed "to the public," but I brought some happy reminders home with me so that we can still learn together, and dream of warm sandy beaches, seagulls calling, and ocean waves lapping!

This is my home office. I brought my beach lamps and Cardinal home! This is how I will remember of all of you!!!
