Today the YMCA Youth Parliament 2009 launched its official YouTube site. “This is the first of its kind in Australia and is an exciting leap forward for the rapidly growing program. The YouTube site is an avenue to show prospective participants what the program offers and to break the stigma attached with youth politics in today’s society... Not only will this site give the youth of Western Australia a further outlet of expression to serious problems facing our state we will now have the opportunity to express our concerns to the world and create world wide debate and maybe even force politicians’ into action” Program Coordinator Adam Vilaca said today at the official launch party in Perth.
The website is designed has a part of a rumored media program to run in conjunction with the main parliamentary program and will be used to post videos from past parliamentary debates and activities to show the general public what the program has to offer in a unique way. It will also keep participants up to date with the 2009 program with campaign videos for elections and general info updates with the Program Coordinator Adam Vilaca.
