WV Learning Center Summer Reading Camp -- Apply Now!

  • Dates and Times
    • July 6-10, 2009  
      • Group A:  9:00-11:30 a.m.
      • Group B:  2:00-4:30 p.m. 
  • Who Can Attend?
    • The camp will enroll up to eight students in two groups between the grades of  1st  and 3rd.
    • Applicants must be evaluated free of charge, accepted, and placed in a group of similar ages and abilities. 
  • Who Should Attend?
    • Students who have struggled to learn to read, who want to catch up to their classmates' reading level, and who are looking for the most effective reading instructional program available. 
  • Location
    • The home of  Mrs. Kathi Bills next to Winifrede Presbyterian Church, Fields Creek Rd., Winifrede, WV  304-949-6562
  • Daily Schedule
    • First Session (one hour)
    • Supervised Snack and Activity Time (30 minutes)
    • Second Session (one hour)
  • Tuition and Fees  
    • $20 Registration Fee 
      • (includes cost of materials--notebook and handouts)
      • Paid at time of enrollment
    • $100 Tuition for one week of 10 sessions

  • On Friday, we hope to have a special cookout for the children and their families, as well as a visit from the Kanawha County Bookmobile!
For even more improvement, students can opt to continue their instruction on a one-on-one basis through the rest of the summer or through the school year.  You won't believe the results!
