Task

  • Write a poem from the perspective of a WWI soldier using information shared in class over the last couple weeks (Including A Soldier's Life, Johnny Got His Gun, Weapons of WWI Activity, Course of the War Activity).
  • Publish your poem on the WWI Poetry Wiki.
  • Find at least five photographs, paintings, or posters that reflect the content, tone, or theme of your poem or specific sections of your poem.
  • Appropriately place your images in your poem. (See In Flanders Fields as an example).  You must also list links to ALL of the images you included.  Not doing this will result in HALF CREDIT.

Process

  1. Find your name on the 2008 Poems link and click on it.
  2. Click the Edit button at the top of the page, scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  3. Type (or copy and paste) your poem, hit Save when finished.
  4. Browse the Image Resouces and select at least five images.
  5. Insert the images in the appropriate place.

Extra Credit

Use one of the free online multimedia editors to create a short presentation of your poem and selected images.  If you record yourself reading the poem, during the multimedia presentation, you will receive an additional five points of extra credit. (Sample).
