Goliath Test Plan rev 4.doc

This is the test plan I wrote and used for testing. It owes its start to the superb plan written by Mr. Junkin (N415RJ, a KR-2S) and also available online last time I checked KRnet. If you get nothing else from these plans, think out what you are going to do LONG before you get to the flight phase, including what you will do when things go wrong (and this will happen at least once to YOU!). For myself, I had the engine die on me when flight testing MOGAS. I had planned for it, so it was a non-event and the re-start was an automatic response to the EP I had practiced on the ground.   1059k v. 4 Dec 30, 2008 8:27 AM Dave and Tina Goodman

This is the EXCEL spreadsheet I use for weight and balance. It is a living document. As such I have used it to work out various configurations and for flight planning. The imbedded formulas work for a tri-gear plane. DO NOT USE for a taildragger!   23k v. 3 Dec 30, 2008 8:28 AM Dave and Tina Goodman

Want a quieter engine? Take a look at this photo. I have tips similar to this on my engine. The difference in sound is quite surprising, and my tips are not near as fancy as those in the picture. The difference in performance ( 2 MPH verified) is more than made up for by the noise reduction in the cockpit.  46k v. 1 Dec 25, 2008 2:36 PM Dave and Tina Goodman
