Director: Jaime Pollitte
With a degree in Outdoor Education/Leadership from Prescott College, Jaime has spent the last thirteen years as an outdoor professional. He has spent time working /climbing /skiing / kayaking throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, South America, and Europe.  Jaime started his career with the Pacific Crest Outward Bound School in Oregon & California and then moved on into many other Outdoor Education positions.  Along with his work at The White Mountain School Jaime also spends his summers as an Alpine guide in the N.Cascades of Washington.  Jaime is a AMGA trained "Rock Instructor", AIARE Level I avalanche instructor & level III, Wilderness First Responder, Swift Water Rescue, and  a Leave No Trace Trainer.


Cross Country Ski Coordinator: Gabe Boisseau
Gabe started his career in outdoor eduction nine years ago in Montana working for Missoula Parks and Recreation.  He has since worked for organizations such as Lyndon State Colleges Adventure Programing and as a Trail Crew Leader for the Northwoods Stewardship Center in East Charleston, Vermont.  Growing up in the cold, snowy winters of Vermont sprouted Gabe's interest in two-plank transportation.  He's been an avid nordic skier for over twenty years and spent six years telemark ski patrolling at  Burke Mountain.  His obsession with frozen precipitation has also led him to pursue ice climbing and winter mountaineering thorough-out the U.S. and Canada.  When not in the hills you can find Gabe cycling, hiking, raft-guiding or trail running with his wife Joanna and their dog Zeek. He is also a climbing instructor at The White Mountain School.



Trails Coordinator: Deandra Brassard

Deandra began working in the outdoor educator field in  2000 with the Colby College Wilderness Orientation Program.  Since then she has worked with numerous organizations.   She has taught environmental education for Mass Audubon, Keewaydin Environmental Education Center, and W. Alton Jones.  While completing an internship with the Student Conservation Association Deandra realized her passion for trail work.  As Trails Coordinator, Deandra oversees our School's adopt a trail program with the Appalachian Mountain Club and  instructs  students and faculty in the construction of our Echo Crag trail project in Franconia State Park.  Deandra finds trail work to be a wonderful balance of being rugged, getting dirty outdoors, and giving back.  These aspects are very important aspect of her life.  Deandra is a certified Wilderness First Responder.



Rock / Kayak Instructor: Josh Early

Josh Early grew up in New England and received a degree in Adventure Education from Plymouth State University.  He has spent the last four summers on the Penobscot River as a raft guide/trip leader/safety boater.  He has traveled throughout the East coast kayaking the gems of the area. Josh has a passion for the adventure of new rivers in new areas but feels most at home on the steep creeks of New England.  He finds that showing his favorite rivers to friends; old and new is most rewarding.   When he is not paddling, he loves climbing rock and ice.  He has climbed all over New England and throughout Arizona.  His favorite part of climbing is introducing new folks to the rewards of pushing their personal limits.  During the winter he is often found sporting a grin while crashing the bumps or amidst the trees on his skis.  Josh is trained in swift water rescue and is
a Wilderness EMT.     
 

Lead Rock Instructor: Hiapo Emmons Shaw

Hiapo has been climbing rocks, ice, big walls, and mountains for more than fifteen years, and has been teaching others’ how to do it for almost as long. His experience ranges from El Capitan in Yosemite Valley to volcanoes in Ecuador and from glaciated peaks in the Canadian Rockies to granite cliffs here in New Hampshire. He most enjoys long free climbs with a sense of adventure and wildness and tries to share that love with his students. His training includes an American Mountain Guides Association Rock Instructor course, Wilderness First Responder certification, and AIARE level II avalanche training. He has been teaching rock and ice climbing at the White Mountain School for eight years


White Water Coordinator: Josh Lawton

Josh's experience as an outdoor educator began eight years ago as a professional whitewater rafting guide in Colorado.  Along with his work here at WMS Josh is an Adjunct Faculty member at Plymouth State University in their Adventure Education program.  Josh is an American Canoe Association certified Whitewater Instructor, Swiftwater Rescue, and Wilderness First Responder.  Along with hucking waterfalls in his kayak, Josh enjoys deep powder and reading.




Pro Deal Coordinator: Tom Pace

Tom has been playing outdoors for countless years. His interest in Outdoor Education began while interning at the Hillside Outdoor Education Center during his senior year of high school. After having run trips on challenge courses, high ropes elements and canoeing, Tom started exploring other ways of recreating in the outdoors including climbing in a variety of locations, backpacking across Corsica, mountain & road biking in New England and Colorado, and telemark skiing all over the US. Tom is WFR certified and helps run a Junior Ski Patrol program at Bretton Woods.



Student Leadership Coordinator: Kate Renner

Kate Renner has been leading wilderness trips since 1998.  She has worked for several different organizations, including the Chewonki Foundation, the High Mountain Institute, and the National Outdoor Leadership School, and has had the opportunity to guide groups in many different areas of the US, including the high desert of Southern Utah and Wyoming's Wind River Mountains.  In addition to teaching climbing at WMS, she is also the art teacher, and loves bringing her sketchbook on OLEs.  In her free time, she likes to climb, ski, run, and find new hills on her bike.


White Water Coordinator: Matt Toms

Matthew's career as an outdoor educator began 14 years ago working as a Sea Kayak Guide off the coast of Northern Maine.  He has since worked in experiential/outdoor education throughout Maine, Utah, Chile, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and New Hampshire.  His true outdoor passions are whitewater kayaking and backcountry skiing, though he simply loves sharing the outdoors, and all its wonders, with students.  Matthew is an ACA Certified Whitewater Instructor, AIARE Level II, Swiftwater Rescue, and Wilderness First Responder.
