War

There is has been a continual war raging for the past two hundred years, though most have not been aware of it. Where once this war was fought with pencil and paper - weapons of a honed mind and spirit, now obsolete - now accounted for - even manipulated. This war has progressed, expanded, and evolved into a worldwide war with microsecond decisions that affect the fate of nations.

There is no rest for the warrior. All throughout the night, thousands of computers have strained  and ran hundreds of scenarios in an effort to maximize gains and minimize loss. In this war, the infantry are computers, sergeants the programmers, and ammunition, electricity. In this war, the territories fought over are the stock certificates of sovereign companies. Like any war, it is not the territories that are prized, but more the denial of that prized possession from the others. To this end, the main actors are willing to relinquish these shares for a much lower price than they are truly worth in order to overextend their adversaries' resources, give them a false sense of victory, and then regain these territories at a much lower price. Victory, although brief, commands the simple thing for which all wars are fought: power, and the luxury to continue in their lavish lifestyle.

In a true robber baron fashion, it is the big rich that steal from the small poor, and it is from the poor does the majority of risk and loss occurs. In this case, the poor are ultimately the citizens of these fine corporations, and from the individual traders who buy and sell.

This is the kind of manipulation, deceit, and political intrigue that the individual trader - the mercenary soldier of this hypothetical war - must see before they can not only achieve an adequate understanding of the modern day market, but also profit from it.

The goal of this website is to educate the everyday trader - to train him or her to be a mercenary in this war, and like many mercenaries - to profit greatly both in the traditional monetary sense and in work-life issues.
