- Moodle - a course management software that lets you create a class and register students
- Keep grades in the class
- Maintain a forum within the class
- Create assignments for students
- Collect files as part of an assignment
- Create a wiki for the class
- Create chatrooms for class that are open when you specify and for users you specify
- Group students and make materials available to specific groups
- Create quizzes or tests for students to take (and grade) online
- Create a class glossary that integrates into the text on the site. Words appearing in the glossary are highlighted and linked within the course.
Moodle is free and I can install it quickly. Training will be something else, but we could do it after EOCT and you all could try it next year if you want. We can put it on Waynelearns.com |

Visited with grant team, made rounds to assist with various issues. - Tried to resolve why teachers are unable to upload files in Google pages or Docs
- Student laptops are working and are able to edit, but not teacher stations
- Vredeveld looked into it and teacher station worked... still cannot pinpoint the problem
- Spent time cleaning teacher computers (file management, add/remove programs, optimizing)
Taught Mrs. Arem's students how to use Google Docs. Had some technical difficulties with timeouts and general network connectivity, but otherwise ok. |
