Rory's Crossroads: New Future for Nevada Economic Development
Last
Wednesday, Rory Reid announced his intention to run for governor and
released "The Virtual Crossroads," his 30-page-long blueprint for
Nevada's development. The compact yet informative booklet is full of
original and unorthodox proposals for changing Nevada's image.
Proposals include developing clean energy resources and turning Nevada into a
technology hub, as well as a major logistics center.

Lauren Scott has been appointed treasurer of the WCDP Executive Board, effective immediately, announced Chair Chip Evans
Scott became involved in politics in 2004 when she was selected county LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) chair for the John Kerry presidential campaign in Pinellas County, Florida. She relocated to Reno in 2006, and has been active in WCDP activities and the Stonewall Democrats of Northern Nevada.
She founded and is now the executive director of Equality Nevada, a non-profit organization that seeks to improve the lives of LGBT individuals by increasing public support through innovative advocacy, education and outreach programs.
Scott was actively involved in the 2009 session of the Nevada State Legislature, supporting domestic partnership legislation and transgender rights.
She is a decorated Air Force veteran and served during Desert Storm. Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and has experience in non-profit accounting.
