Assessing learning outcomes in student affairs is challenging because it
involves reframing our understanding of learning to include emotion and
behavior as well as cognition. In this workshop, Jane Fried, a co-author of
NASPA’s Learning Reconsidered: A Campus-Wide Focus on the Student
Experience, worked with participants on ways to define and assess integrated
learning outcomes, and relate them to the kinds of learning associated with
general education and institutional mission.
