| The Music program at Talmud Torah is geared towards creating an understanding and appreciation of music of all genres, but most specifically classical music. I use a solfa "play-based" program entitled "Musicplay" which was created for all different age groups, and comprises of a multitude of singing games, rhythm stick play-alongs (to classical music), music listening guides, rhythm understanding, music composition, flashcards, and much more. This has been a very successful curriculum in the music department, as I truly believe that the students are receiving a very well-rounded music education. Another major component to the music department is performance. Our yearly Channukah concert gives each student in the school a night to shine! Every year we have a different theme, and each year seems to outdo the previous! My goal as the Music Specialist at Talmud Torah is to instill not only a love of music, but a love of learning music as well!
