Hello, my name is Monica Cortez, and this is my 11th year teaching at Visitation. It seems longer, because I've been around forever. Both of my children went to Visitation, my husband and his siblings went to Visitation, and my children were baptized and confirmed here at Visitation. I have been married to a wonderful man, Michael, for 30 years. We have two terrific children, Christian and Christopher. Christian married John Cassreino in July 2006. She is attending Holy Cross College and is hoping to graduate in May 2010. Christopher is also attending Holy Cross College, and he is also hoping to graduate in December 2010. In the fall of '99 I left Chinchuba Institute where I was working with children that were speech and language delayed. I started working in the Language Lab which was originated as a program for children that were dyslexic. The program has evolved to help children with a number of learning differences. I know that if we were all the same, and we all learned the same, it would be a very boring world. We are all different for a reason and in God's ultimate wisdom and time we will find our path in life. I know I did. |
