My name is Lisa Miller. I have been teaching for 20 years. I graduated from Our Lady Of Holy Cross College in 1986 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I am Certified in Elementary Relgious Education through the Archdiocese of New Orleans. This is my third year at Visitation of Our Lady. I feel blessed to have joined such a wonderful school. I have taught Catholic Religion for 16 years, and I truly enjoy what I do. Teaching at Visitation has been a very rewarding experience. I believe we have so much to offer with our Religion programs. Attending mass weekly and Adoration monthly with our students is a wonderful way to allow them to express their faith. I am married to a wonderful man named Joe Miller. Joe is the owner of "Joe's French Quarter WIne Cellar." He has been in this business for over 21 years. Joe and I have two beautiful daughters, Amanda and Lauren. Amanda and our Son-in-law, Jessie have been married four years. Amanda currently accepted a job at Ursuline Academy as the Communications Director. Our daughter, Lauren is beginning her second year at Loyola University. She hopes to become active in the theater this year. My philosophy of teaching is very simple. I believe in teaching the whole child. We are all created in God's image and likeness. I feel, as a Religion teacher, it is my job to encourage my students to see the good in everyone. I feel it is important to have patience and understanding while allowing each student to express themselves creatively and productively. |
