Standardized Testing

April 15, 2009

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow, Thursday, April 16, the third grade classes will begin standardized testing. It is important that you make sure that your child is at school on time. If your child is late, he or she will have to sit in the office until we begin a new section of the test. We will be testing through Thursday, April 23. Please make every effort to send your child to school. It will be difficult to schedule make up tests. We will be testing in the morning, so you might want to consider making any appointments for your child in the afternoons if needed.

We want your child to do the best that he or she can do on these standardized tests. In order to accomplish this, we will not be assigning much homework over the next two weeks. We will, however, expect all students to pay attention and participate in class. We will be giving class assignments and tests based on lessons taught after testing each day.

Finally, please emphasize how important it is to be well rested. Have your child go to bed early, and make sure that your child eats a healthy breakfast each morning.

We have been preparing your child for these important tests all year. We are proud of all of our students, and know that they will do well. Encourage your child to do his/her best. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Third Grade Teachers
