Hi, my name is Cheryl Tourelle and I'd like to welcome you to my website.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I am the Director of Religious Education for both Visitation of Our Lady School and Parish. I have previously taught at Visitation for 20 years. I graduated from the Institute of Catechesis and Spirituality through the Archdiocese of New Orleans to receive my certification.
I believe Religion is so important in the life of a child because it nurtures their faith journey. Learning about Jesus and His great love for each one of us is vital. It is also essential to understand our Catholic faith and to be knowledgeable in Church matters. I believe that Religion classes are lessons of the heart.
A quote from scripture that means a great deal to me is "This is the day the Lord has made, let us be glad and rejoice in it." I believe each day is a gift from God and we should do our best to please God in the things we say and do. Applying the Golden Rule to our lives will also enable us to rejoice each day.
I would like to share some personal facts about myself. I have three beautiful daughters: Tracy, Talia, and Terrin. All my daughters are married and I have been blessed with three wonderful and loving grandchildren, named Marley, Mitchell, and Christopher. All of my grandchildren attend Visitation of Our Lady School and it's a delight to get to see them during the day. I have been married for 38 years to my wonderful husband, Wayne. My favorite things to do are going country dancing every Saturday night with my husband and going to the movies on Sunday after Mass. My hobby is Scrapbooking and I try to scrapbook as often as I can.
Textbook information:
Visitation of Our Lady uses books that are approved by the Archdiocese of New Orleans. For grades Kindergarten through eighth Ignatius Press is used, which includes a textbook and activity book. The activity book has creative ways of enforcing the lesson being taught. Grades Pre K 3 & 4 use Loyola Press textbooks.
