For the past 30 years, I have had the pleasure of serving the Visitation of Our Lady School community. With a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Orleans, I began my career as Visitation’s first full time Physical Education teacher, working with students in Pre K through 8th grade. In time, my duties expanded to include middle school coordinator and assistant principal. While serving as assistant principal, I returned to the University of New Orleans and began working toward my degree in administration. In May of 1999 I completed the necessary work and received my Masters in Educational Leadership. In August 2003, I became principal of Visitation, and with the help of my administrative team we have spent the last six years maintaining Visitation’s commitment to faith and academic excellence. Over the past few years, we have instituted several new programs and enhanced our school campus. In May of 2005, I had the honor of being chosen as Visitation’s recipient of the Order of St. Louis Medallion for my contributions of time and talents to Visitation Church and School. I have been married to my supportive husband, Jeff, for over 30 years. Together we have 3 wonderful children: Daniel, Craig, and Rachel, all of whom attended Visitation of Our Lady School. Daniel followed in his father’s footsteps and graduated from Holy Cross High School. He then continued his education and graduated from Southeastern University. Currently, he serves as a St. Charles Parish police officer and his wife, Janell, is a teacher at Destrehan High School in St. Charles Parish. They blessed my husband and myself with our first grandchild, Heidi Elizabeth, on September 30, 2009. Our second son, Craig, graduated from Jesuit High School in 2001 and continued his educational pursuits at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Upon graduation in 2006, Craig began his career as a pharmacist in New Orleans. Our daughter, Rachel, graduated from Mount Carmel Academy in 2004 and from L.S.U. in May of 2008. She began her teaching career in August 2008 at R.K. Smith Middle School in St. Charles Parish as a 7th grade Math teacher. She is engaged to Joshua Hafford and will be married on November 20, 2009. |
