I earned my BS degree in Elementary Education from Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans in 1978.  The following fall I began teaching here at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic School in first grade.  In 1980 I transferred to Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Belle Chasse teaching second grade.  I continued to teach at OLPH until 1988 moving from second grade to middle school teaching Language Arts.  After a year in Jackson, Mississippi, I returned to VOL teaching middle school Language Arts and Science.

From 2001 to 2003 I served as Middle School Coordinator.  Beginning with the 2003 - 2004 school year Mrs. Levet asked me to join her Administrative Team.  Among my duties are middle school scheduling, textbook ordering, standardized test  ordering and scheduling, compiling the school's state report, compiling the school wide monthly calendar, etc...  I enjoy my work on the administrative team as I continue to teach and be the Student Council's moderator.

I presently teach 8th grade Physical Science.  My goal every year is to challenge the students to go beyond simple memorization of facts and to apply the facts.  Hopefully I get the students to do more critical thinking by making inferences and problem solving.

While teaching has been a fulfilling career, it is not my entire life.  I am a wife, mother, and grandmother.   I am very proud of my family.  I have two happy and successful daughters and sons -in-law, a beautiful, funny granddaughter, and a brand new addition to the family - a beautiful grandson!   I feel my teaching experiences have made me a good mother; my parenting experiences have made me a good teacher.
