Giving time and talent isn't limited to the adults of V.O.L. Parish. Very often our children are at the very heart of volunteering, and our 2009 Cajun Festival t-shirt artist is a wonderful example. Kalli Champagne is a 7th grader at V.O.L and has been attending since Kindergarten. While Kalli likes to draw, she really excels in her studies. She was recognized by the State of Louisiana for her high ACT scores by being entered into the Duke University Talent Identification program. Aside from being a very gifted student, Kalli is also a cheerleader for V.O.L. and cheers competitively with Galaxy All-Stars in Harahan. She has also participated as a Mass Reader for V.O.L. and will be attending a week long community service camp this Summer. Kalli will be attending Mt. Carmel Academy in the Fall, and graduating in 2014. Cajun Fest would like to thank Kalli Champagne for the outstanding artwork she provided to the 2009 Festival and for being an inspiration to the youth of our parish. If you would like to be featured in our "Meet the Artist" section, look for the paperwork on our t-shirt contest which is held each February, or check back at www.cajunfest.vol.org for more details.
