A Pastoral Letter To The Church During This Period of Economic Uncertainty

...This is the time to refocus on our calling to be stewards of the financial and spiritual gifts God has given to us. It is a time to model faithful dependence upon the God of abundance...Read More

2008 Stewardship Campaign Ends October 19th and we have not yet reached the half-way point.

We have 49 pledge cards totaling $164,452.00.  Please take the time and...

THINK About It... PRAY About It...THANK About It...

And MAIL It.

You may safely register your pledge online or complete and return a pledge card to the church office.

Trunk-n-Treating

Our next big event will be Sunday, October 26th, from 4- 6 pm in the Vine Street Parking Lot and Fellowship Hall!.  This safe alternative to trick-or-treating gives all of us a chance to enjoy Halloween festivities with our church family and community.

Bring a friend!  - Bring a neighbor!  - Bring a ghost or bring a goblin!

This is how it works...Church members and friends park in the church parking lot and sit or stand behind their vehicle with the trunk open. Children will “Trunk ‘n Treat” to each vehicle. The adults may dress-up, decorate their trunk, light candles, play music from their car or whatever strikes your fancy. A lawn chair and a simple bucket of treats will do nicely. We need lots of nice people to pass out treats. Please have your trunk ready by 4 pm.

We will trunk-n-treat from 4-5 pm and then close our trunks and head inside at 5 for a chili supper prepared by the men of VSCC. (No kidding!)

Reconciliation Offering

"We are the Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.  As part of the one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord's table as God has welcomed us."
Dr. Sharon Watkins, General Minister and President, 21st Century Vision Team.

Your gift to the Reconciliation Ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will empower others to come to the table and become the gift of reconciliation.  Vine Street will observe the 2008 Reconciliation Special Day Offering on October 19th and 26th.
